Specialty Plate Auction

Right now, Massachusetts drivers have the opportunity to secure a coveted low-numbered license plate while also supporting the 400th anniversary of one of the most historically significant moments in American history; the Mayflower voyage and the founding of Plymouth Colony. Numbers 1 through 99 of the Plymouth 400 License Plate will be open to the public for online bidding beginning on April 19, plus ten additional plates representing historically significant dates will also be on the auction block; 1620, 1621, 1623, 1627, 1820, 1824, 1863, 1920, 1957, and 2020. Bidding will culminate on June 3, 2017 at a live auction event that you won't want to miss!

  • Bidding will open online on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 through LiveAuctioneers.com. Check back to this page for a live link to the online auction.
  • Bidding will culminate on Saturday June 3, 2017 at a live auction event hosted at the New England Historic Genealogical Society, located at 99 Newbury St. Boston, MA, beginning at 6pm. Registration for the LIVE AUCTION IN BOSTON is mandatory, as space is limited. Tickets may be reserved here beginning May 1
  • If you would like to bid during the live event on June 3 via telephone, you must register with J. James Auctioneers & Appraisers by calling 508-746-8608.
  • If you are unable to follow along and bid online, via telephone, or in person on June 3, you may submit an absentee ballot to J. James Auctioneers & Appraisers by calling 508-746-8608.

If you plan to attend the Live Auction Event, be sure to register early as spaces will fill up quickly! The Live Auction Event on Saturday June 3, 2017 will take place at the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston. The event will begin with a cocktail hour and silent auction from 6PM—7PM. Bidding on the Plymouth 400 License Plates will take place from 7PM—9PM. Registration is free but donations are greatly appreciated.
