PLYMOUTH — While a year full of historical and celebratory events remains up in the air, the nonprofit planning Plymouth’s 400th anniversary continues its mission amid the coronavirus pandemic by providing educational materials and supporting the business community.

Plymouth 400, a nonprofit organization established to honor the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower’s voyage and the founding of Plymouth Colony, was supposed to kick off the year on April 24 with opening ceremonies, but that was pushed back. Michele Pecoraro, the nonprofit’s executive director, said organizers hoped to combine that event with a maritime salute slated for June, but that has been rescheduled for June of 2021.

Pecoraro said this week that it’s too early to make any decisions regarding other events planned through November, which are expected to draw thousands of people from around the country and the world to Plymouth.
