Plymouth 400 announces dates of Spring 2016 Community Update Meetings

PLYMOUTH, MA— Plymouth 400, Inc., the organization planning the events and programs commemorating the 400th anniversary of the 1620 Mayflower voyage and the founding of Plymouth Colony, will continue its mission to keep the community informed and engaged in the 2020 Commemoration by hosting monthly Community Update meetings. Plymouth 400’s Spring 2016 Community Update meetings will take place as follows:
Wednesday, March 9th from 5:30—6:30PM at South Shore Community Action Council

Thursday, April 14th from 6:00—7:00PM at the VFW Post #1822
22 Seven Hills Rd. Plymouth, MA 02360
Tuesday, May 17th from 6:00PM—7:00PM at Curry College
Room #223, 20 North Park Ave. Plymouth, MA 02360
The purpose of Plymouth 400’s Community Updates are to offer the community an opportunity to hear about plans for the historic 2020 Anniversary and the events and programs being planned to commemorate this iconic moment in American history.
All Plymouth 400 Community Meetings are open the public and those in attendance will be encouraged to ask questions and provide feedback. Those who cannot attend in person are invited to follow along on social media using the hashtag #AskPlymouth400 on Facebook and Twitter. Michele Pecoraro, Executive Director of Plymouth 400, will be the keynote speaker at the Spring 2016 Community Updates, and will address the following:
What’s the plan and why? Signature Events and Programs of 2020 and their projected economic impact
What’s ahead? Goals for 2016, including Pre-Commemoration Events & Programs, educational programming, and engaging communities outside of Plymouth
Get involved! Ways you can participate in upcoming programs and events
If your organization would like to host a Community Meeting, please contact Sheila Fey at sfey@plymouth400inc.org. Summer 2016 Community Updates will be scheduled and promoted in late April.
