Join us for a festive community weekend that signals the start of a series of events for the newly restored Mayflower!  This once-in-a-lifetime event features the casting of a magnificent new ship’s bell — an essential element for completing the restoration of the ship. The world-renowned Verdin Company is bringing their mobile bell foundry to Plimoth Plantation for a two-day bell casting and festival!

Participate in passing bronze ingots to the bell-makers, and watch the pouring of molten metal into the mold. On day two, watch as guests of honor take a swing at breaking the mold and then take your turn at ringing the beautiful new bell.

Enjoy food, music, expert narration of the bell-casting, and fun activities for children! The bell casting event is free to the public on both days but does not include admission to Plimoth Plantation.

Event hours:

Saturday, August 31st:  9:00am – 6:30pm – Festival & Bell Casting

Sunday, September 1st: 9:00am – 5:00pm – Festival, Breaking of the Mold, and the First Ring!
