Here’s another fun fact: two dogs made the journey across the Atlantic on the Mayflower in 1620. Edward Winslow wrote in his booklet, A Relation or Journal of the Beginning and Proceedings of the English Plantation Settled at Plimoth in New England (Otherwise known as Mourt’s Relation that they were actually a female mastiff and a small springer spaniel.
