The 2018 Bass & Blue Tournament Weekend is upon us, with a Bass & Blue Fishing Tournament and Captains & Crew Kickoff Dinner. This year, Project Arts is joining forces with Plymouth 400 Inc. to present the Bass and Blues Harborfest as well. That’s fishing, food, music and kids activities. It’s time to grab the fishing gear and join this wonderful fundraiser for Plymouth 400, the nonprofit dedicated to raising funds for Plymouth’s 400th celebration in 2020. Here’s a list of the events and how you can get involved.
WHAT
The Plymouth 400 Bass & Blue Tournament is a fun-filled long weekend of events for the whole family. A fishing contest, dinner, kids activities and more are scheduled.

This exciting evening features dinner provided by Alden Park, menu to include Caesar salad, barbecue baby back ribs, panko-crusted cod, pasta salad, potato salad, corn on the cob and assorted cookies as well as drinks, raffles and prizes. Hosting the evening will be long-time Plymouth 400 and Bass & Blue Tournament host Rob Hakala, of The South Shore’s Morning News on 95.9 WATD. Special guest Trey Zoeller, founder and master blender of Jefferson’s Bourbon, will present his whiskey barrel adventures aboard the MV Ocearch, a 126-foot cat boat dedicated to the study of great white, tiger sharks and other species.
Saturday, July 14–Sunday, July 15: The Bass & Blue Fishing Tournamen is open to all ages. Participants can fish anywhere in Massachusetts – on or off shore – but must take their catch to the weigh in station located at Cordage Park Pier in North Plymouth. Prize categories will be awarded based on age and type of fish (bass or blues), with the top adult prizes of $1,000 for the largest bass, and $300 for the largest bluefish. New this year is a chance to win a $500 gift certificate for fishing gear with an awards ceremony raffle, courtesy of Merrill Engineers & Land Surveyors. Every tournament participant who weighs in a fish will receive a numbered ticket (one per angler). The winning ticket will be drawn at the Awards Ceremony under the tent at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 15. WATD’s Captain Lou will broadcast live from the ceremony. You must be present at the ceremony to win.
