The Plymouth 400, Inc. moved one giant step closer to matching its $250,000 grant from the state when the organization received a check for $100,000 from the Plymouth Industrial Development Corporation.
Plymouth 400, Inc. has received $100,000 from the Plymouth Industrial Development Corporation, moving closer to its goal of $250,000.
Once that goal is reached, the group tabbed with organizing events, activities, and the leadup to Plymouth’s 400th anniversary celebration in 2020, will qualify for a $250,000 match grant from the state.
The check was presented to the Plymouth 400, Inc. by PIDC President Ed Santos.
“I am very pleased to present this gift to the 400th committee as one of the final acts of giving from the PIDC,” Santos said. “Not only will this donation help the committee meet their matching grant from the state but I hope it will also inspire others to help fund this important commemoration of our Town’s anniversary.”
The Plymouth 400, Inc. President Kevin O’Reilly was grateful for the donation.
“On behalf of the Board of Plymouth 400, Inc., I want to thank Ed and the PIDC for their very generous contribution,” he said. “These funds will help us meet our state matching grant and will be put to work supporting the many special events that our organization will be developing to commemorate the historic 400th anniversary of the arrival of the Pilgrims, and the establishment of the Town of Plymouth.”
