The Walk, originally scheduled for October 11, 2021 is in the process of being converted to a virtual tour format to be released on November 13th. Programming and viewing details to come. As this production is still being finalized, hence the schedule change, we will re-release the Virtual tour of the exhibit “Our”Story: 400 Years of Wampanoag History to coincide with Indigenous Peoples Day. Watch our Facebook page for details!
The Virtual Wampanoag Ancestors Walk was organized by members of the Wampanoag tribes of Massachusetts. Participants will pay homage to their ancestors and will highlight designated sites where Wampanoag ancestors walked. The presentation will include native songs honoring the ancestors. The Ancestors Quilt, a collection of quilt squares collected from tribal members in memory of their ancestors, will also be on display in conjunction with this event.
We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we read and react to pandemic-related regulations and would invite you to check back frequently and follow our social media pages for updates.
The 400th Anniversary Commemoration continues with two days of free maritime- and history-themed festivities at Plymouth Harbor. Visiting wooden masted ships and other vessels, a lighted boat parade, live music presented by Nightlife Music Co. and educational programming will be part of the festivities. This exciting Plymouth 400 Signature Event will take place at the Plymouth Waterfront. During the festival, there will be fun and informative activities for the whole family including public boarding and tours of visiting ships including Schooner Harvey Gamage, Tall Ship Lynx and Coast Guard Cutter Cobia. On Saturday night the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra “The Phil” takes the stage for a free outdoor concert at 7:30. There will not be food trucks and the like as Plymouth 400 is encouraging attendees to patronize Plymouth restaurants and other services as they continue to recover from the Pandemic. This event is made possible by the generosity of Plymouth 400’s sponsors and business partners. Full schedule below (subject to change).
